First month in a New Year 2009...I hope this one will be the start to better times ahead.
This picture is at one of my favorite places...Funks Grove, Chapel of the Templed Trees. I grew up coming here to this secluded, peaceful place located on Old Route 66. My Mom and I would come here to walk around and enjoy nature and relax. Some of my relatives are at rest in the nearby cemetery, surrounded by the beauty of nature. I love to get Funks Grove Maple Sirup ( their traditional way of spelling it!)- better than any artificial stuff!
When times are tough, I love to visit this place, walk through the timber, enjoy the colors (especially in fall), and reflect on simple times to refocus my heart and mind. It's always been a constant in my life and am grateful for it's uniqueness.
With the economy and life in general being tough for everyone, I want to try and focus on the things that I am grateful for, things that make me happy and hope for better things to come my way and for those I love.
